Description and benefits:
Beeswax is the wax naturally secreted by bees (thanks to their wax glands). They use it to build the combs of their hive. Beeswax is composed mainly of esters and fatty acids, and takes the form of small, white, transparent scales that later become opaque.
We know beeswax as an amber-yellow, waxy solid with a distinctive odour.
Beeswax, which is 100% natural, is considered to be a high-quality ‘waste product’ that can be easily recycled, since beekeepers have to work with it when harvesting honey.
There are two types of beeswax: amber-yellow beeswax and white beeswax.
Yellow beeswax is the raw product. The wax has generally been heated with steam and hot filtered without undergoing any bleaching or deodorising treatment. The wax can sometimes contain remnants of pollen or propolis, making it ideal for your natural cosmetics.
White beeswax is the treated product. The wax has generally been steamed and filtered while hot, then undergone several treatments to purify, deodorise and whiten it. It is ideal for use in cleaning products (furniture, leather, etc.) and candles.
Non-GMO wax, additive-free and not tested on animals.
